Magic NZ Swimming Academy provides a comprehensive programme throughout Auckland which includes the following. Holiday Programmes for competitive swimmers, Regional Stroke Clinics, Private Lessons and both non-competitive and competitive swimming programmes. Our competitive programme is based at Mt Albert Aquatic Centre, Mt Albert and Cameron Pool, Mt Roskill. We have the latest equipment to assist our swimmers to achieve on the regional, national and international stage.
Magic NZ was founded in April 2009 by former Olympian and World Champion swimmer Paul Kent in partnership with SwimMagic Swim Schools, Mt Albert Aquatic Centre, Cameron Pool, and with assistance from Mt Albert Grammar School (MAGS).
Magic NZ has also partnered with the Roskill Swimming Club to form Roskill Magic. The Roskill Swimming Club was established by the former Vice President of FINA, the late Artie Shaw in 1964 and has a long, and highly successful history of producing champions. Roskill has placed numerous swimmers on Olympic, World and Commonwealth teams with names like Paul Kingsman (Olympic Bronze), Anthony Mosse (Olympic Silver), Trent Bray (World Gold and Silver) and current Director of Coaching Paul Kent (World Gold and Silver), to name just a few.
The primary function of these partnerships is to establish clear pathways from swim school to club based programmes and fitness groups, and cater for an enthusiastic junior to a full time elite athlete. The current success of the programmes run by Magic NZ can be attributed to a holistic long term approach that we take with all our swimmers. Our focus is on the development of structurally balanced, well round athletes that enjoy turning up to improve themselves daily.
We can achieve high level results with swimmers through a consistent approach that focuses on technique, skills, and kick development in the water, and dryland work. We work extremely hard on programmes that strengthen our athletes into correct structural alignments and that develop correct primal movement patterns. Our approach improves swimming performance while ensuring we reduce the risk of injuries and develop athletes with a long term focus.
We have a great team of professional coaches, and we are consistently looking for ways to improve our programme to ensure a progressive, enjoyable experience for all our members.
We look forward to hearing from you.
